Shriya has been keenly interested in the field of environmental research since she started observing how climate change is affecting the earth. She has interacted with the people at the ground closely and has tried to understand their problems regarding environmental issues in the Pune district of Maharashtra and several districts in Bihar. She always wanted to help the community with her knowledge gained, she was more connected to the women’s in Bihar as their livelihood condition worse after the male member migration.
She is currently enrolled in Masters of Philosophy in Population Studies from the International Institute for Population Sciences, which is one of the leading institutes in India in terms of Research and development. Here she got expertise in research, policymaking, data analysis and data collection. She has also worked with the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) on climatic issues, mitigation and adaptation strategies. She has also suggested several climatic models for the state of Bihar.
She addresses farmers on the problem being faced by them due to climate change and aware of the climatic changes occurring around them. As the coming generations need will be climate change education. She dreams of making this planet cleaner and environment friendly for the coming generation and is working on getting climate change education being implemented at the primary level of education in India.
Shriya’s message to the world is “Our children may die of climate change, do a bit of yours today to build their better tomorrow”.
